The Story Behind the Cast

Below you’ll find our “rough drafts” of the characters for Alice and the Pale Horse. Think of this like casting photos- if real people were to take up the roles in the story- they would likely look a lot like this. Due to artistic limitations, not every character detail could be translated directly- for example, Pale Horse’s exposed bone jaw, the Devil’s horns and sealed left eye, and the Queen of Swords’ porcelain mask and long fangs. But if you use your imagination, you might still see most of the intended picture.

We hope to someday employ an artist who can do these characters justice. In the meantime, we are happy to release these character renders created courtesy of Artbreeder in celebration of one year of Alice and the Pale Horse!
